Abstract:

The induction of the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into corneal epithelial cells for the treatment of limbal stem cell deficiency hasbroad prospect. Currently, great achievements have been made in the technique of inducing the pluripotent stem cells into the corneal epithelial cells. However, problems such as low efficiency and long induction time still exist. In order to provide seed cells with high proliferative ability for the reconstruction of ocular surface and provide reference and guidance for clinical application, we summarized the methods of including pluripotent stem cells into the corneal epithelial cells. Additionally, we analyzed the clinical application prospect of pluripotent stem cells differentiate into corneal epithelial cells.

Key words: Pluripotent stem cells, Corneal epithelial cells, Limbal stem cell deficiency
