Abstract:

Brown adipose tissue (BAT) is composed of brown adipocytes and vascular matrix components (SVF) , including endothelial cells, lymphocytes, fibroblasts and stem cells with multiple differentiation functions, which is of great significance to cardiovascular health and the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases. At the same time, BAT exerts an important influence on the body through the way of energy metabolism and cytokines secreted in an autocrine or paracrine. BAT has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system, and has anti-inflammatory as well as anti-ventricular remodeling effects, thus protecting cardiovascular system. The discovery and application of adipose-derived stem cells cells also provide an effective way for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. This article reviews the related BAT researches in human and animal models since its discovery, and discusses its relationship with cardiovascular injury.

Key words: Brown adipose tissue, Cardiovascular disease, Browning, Adipose-derived stem cells
