Abstract:

Objective

To explore the research status, hotspots and frontiers of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in treating of the diabetic foot.

Methods

The visual analysis method was used to analyze the related literature of MSCs in the diagnosis and prevention of diabetic foot based on CiteSpace and EndNote software, which were searched in the core database of Web of Science in the last ten years, and the knowledge mapping of keywords, authors, institutions and other aspects were drawn.

Results

A total of 231 works of literature were included. (1) The research hotspots of MSCs in treating of diabetic foot mainly included wound healing, angiogenesis, growth factor and differentiation, etc. (2) Keywords of emergence (2020-2022) mainly consist of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells and clinical trials. (3) Paracrine and differentiation properties play beneficial roles in the wound healing of diabetic foot. (4) In communication and cooperation, research institutions and authors in our country have played a leading role, and the trend of multi-disciplinary research emerges in research subjects.

Conclusion

The current research status, hotspots and frontiers of diabetic foot in the past ten years were preliminarily demonstrated by using visual analysis, but also the clinical application of MSCs in the treatment of diabetic foot were also described, which provides valuable reference for the future research of diabetic foot.
