Bibliometric analysis of scientific papers on adipose-derived stem cells research

Objective

To evaluate the development and application perspective of ADSCs through bibliometric by analyzing the scientific papers on ADSCs research embodied by SCI database.

Methods

Each biliometrics index of the scientific paper was analyzed with the literature metrology, and the results were analyzed by Bicomb and UCINET.

Results

8128 articles were embodied by SCI, with 1372 Chinese published articles. The total amount of articles were from United States, China, Korea ranked top compared with other areas. Most journals were from United States, England, Netherlands, etc. A total of 4239 articles gained more than 1000 sets of foundation support; Frequent- cited articles were mainly from United States, German, Japan, and especially two articles from ZUK PA 2001 and 2002 are cited 6791 times; ADSCs Research fields were on basic experimental research; ADSCs usually could treat diseases such as myocardial infarction, osteoarthritis, diabetes mellitus, etc.

Conclusion

ADSCs have characteristic of proliferation, differentiation, regeneration and wide source. They can be used as seed cells during the cure of regeneration, which is of great hope by bioscience. ADSCs started in the 90s of last century, and developed rapidly after the year of 2001. The quantity of articles was in geometric multiple increases. With the development of ADSCs, they will be promoted greatly on regenerative medicine and aesthetic medicine moving forward, and more and more sufferers will get benefit.
